Dermal filler vs. Botox: what’s the difference?
They solve different problems, and they work beautifully together. Botox®, Dysport®, and Daxxify® relax the muscles that create movement lines — forehead, frown lines, crow’s feet. Dermal fillers replace the volume a face loses over time and smooth the folds that stay put even at rest: hollow cheeks, under-eye shadows, the lines from nose to mouth, and thinning lips.

Is a “liquid facelift” the same as dermal filler?
A “liquid facelift” is simply a strategic combination of dermal fillers (and sometimes a collagen stimulator like Sculptra®) placed to lift and re-support the face without surgery. Which filler is right for me — Juvéderm, Restylane, RHA, or Radiesse?
Different areas call for different gels. We carry Juvéderm®, Restylane®, and RHA® hyaluronic-acid fillers — each with its own thickness and flexibility for lips, cheeks, tear troughs, or fine lines — plus Radiesse®, a calcium-based filler that also stimulates your own collagen for firmer areas like the jawline.

Are dermal fillers reversible, and how long do they last?
Hyaluronic-acid fillers (Juvéderm®, Restylane®, RHA®) are dissolvable — if you ever want an adjustment, they can be softened or reversed with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. That reversibility is a real safety advantage of being treated by a physician-led practice.
Longevity varies by product and area, generally six to eighteen months. Lips tend to move the most and refresh sooner; deeper structural filler in the cheeks lasts longer. Individual results vary.

How long do dermal fillers last?
Depending on the product and area, most hyaluronic-acid fillers last 6–18 months. Collagen stimulators like Radiesse® can last longer. We'll recommend the right filler for your goals at your consultation.
Which filler is best for lips vs. cheeks?
Different fillers are formulated for different areas — softer gels for lips, firmer, lifting gels for cheeks and jawline. Your board-certified dermatologist selects the right product for each area.
Is filler safe? What about bruising?
When placed by an experienced dermatologist, filler has an excellent safety profile. Mild swelling or bruising can occur and usually resolves within days. We review all risks at your visit.
Can filler be reversed?
Yes — hyaluronic-acid fillers (Juvéderm®, Restylane®, RHA®) can be dissolved with an enzyme if you want to adjust or undo results.
Do fillers hurt?
Most modern fillers contain lidocaine, and we use additional numbing for sensitive areas like the lips, so discomfort is minimal. Most patients describe pressure more than pain.
Will I look overfilled or fake?
Not in our hands. Our board-certified dermatologists dose conservatively and build in stages, prioritizing balance and natural movement over volume. The goal is that people notice you look rested, not that you've had filler.
Can filler fix under-eye hollows and dark circles?
Carefully placed filler in the tear trough can soften shadowing and hollowing for many patients. This is one of the most technique-sensitive areas of the face, which is exactly why it should be done by an experienced physician injector.
Is filler better than Sculptra for volume loss?
They complement each other. Dermal filler gives immediate, targeted volume; Sculptra® stimulates your own collagen gradually over a series for broader, natural fullness. Your dermatologist may recommend one, the other, or both depending on your goals.
