Our approach
Some skin cancers need surgery. Some are right for Mohs. Some patients may qualify for a non-surgical approach. Many patients are never told that last part. At Juniper, dermatologist-led decision-making means you hear every appropriate option — then choose with confidence. It often starts with a routine mole or lesion check within our broader medical dermatology care.

Conditions we treat
A biopsy and pathology report guide the plan. Treatment is not interchangeable across basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma.
The most common skin cancer. Treatment depends on its subtype, size, depth, location, prior treatment, and other risk features.
A common skin cancer that can behave more aggressively in some patients. Prompt diagnosis and risk-based treatment matter.
Melanoma requires surgical treatment. Deeper or advanced melanoma may also require staging and coordinated oncology care.
Surgical treatment
Surgical excision removes the diagnosed cancer with a planned margin of surrounding skin. The tissue is evaluated by pathology, and follow-up is based on the diagnosis, margins, location, and recurrence risk. Melanoma is treated surgically; selected basal and squamous cell cancers may have more than one appropriate option.
Mohs surgery status
Mohs surgery is not currently bookable at Juniper. It can be especially useful for certain high-risk, recurrent, poorly defined, or cosmetically sensitive skin cancers. We will update this page when our Mohs service is available.

Care that feels personal
Behind every skin cancer diagnosis is a person — often a parent, a grandparent, a lifelong Central Oregonian who has spent decades in the sun. We treat each one the way we would treat our own family: with patience, honesty, and a hand on the shoulder.
From the first skin check to the last follow-up, you are cared for by a team that knows your name — not a number in a queue at a distant clinic.
