Your Sculptra Experience at Juniper Dermatology

Planning & treatment

We start with a thorough consultation. You’ll meet our Sculptra expert to discuss your goals and examine your facial structure. Together, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan.

During your Sculptra session, we ensure your comfort with a topical numbing cream. The injections are quick, using a fine needle to place Sculptra in targeted areas. Most patients find the process surprisingly easy. After treatment, you can return to your normal activities. We’ll provide aftercare instructions to maximize your results and comfort.

Gradual results

Sculptra works differently from instant fillers. You’ll have a series of treatments, usually 3-4 sessions spaced about a month apart. Each quick appointment builds on the previous one, slowly restoring volume and improving skin quality.

We’ll schedule regular check-ins to monitor your progress. These visits allow us to adjust your treatment if needed and address any new concerns. You’ll see subtle changes over time, with full results developing in the months following your last session.

Sculptra FAQ

How long does Sculptra last?

Sculptra results can last 2 years or longer, much longer than most other injectables. This is because Sculptra stimulates your own collagen production, creating a more lasting effect. However, individual results may vary based on factors like age, skin condition, and lifestyle.

Does Sculptra hurt?

Most patients report minimal discomfort during Sculptra injections. We use a topical numbing cream to prepare your skin, and Sculptra contains a local anesthetic. You might feel a slight pinch or pressure during the injection, but it’s generally well-tolerated. Any discomfort typically subsides quickly after the treatment.

How soon will I see results from Sculptra?

Sculptra works differently from traditional fillers. You’ll see gradual improvements over several months as your body produces new collagen. Some patients notice initial volume from the injection fluid, which subsides in a few days. The real results start to show around 6-8 weeks after treatment, with full results typically visible after 3-6 months.

Can Sculptra be removed if I don't like it?

Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, Sculptra can’t be dissolved or immediately removed. Its effects gradually fade over time as your body naturally metabolizes the product. If you’re unsure about committing to Sculptra, we can discuss alternative treatments that offer more immediate reversibility.

Is Sculptra safe?

Yes, Sculptra is FDA-approved and has been safely used for facial rejuvenation for more than two decades. As with any injectable treatment, there are some potential side effects, such as bruising, swelling, or small bumps under the skin. These are typically mild and temporary. During your consultation, we’ll discuss your medical history and any potential risks specific to your situation.

How many Sculptra treatments will I need?

Most patients need 3-4 treatments spaced about 4-6 weeks apart for the best results. However, the exact number can vary based on your needs, the extent of volume loss, and your desired outcome. We’ll create a personalized treatment plan during your consultation.

Can Sculptra be used under the eyes?

Sculptra isn’t FDA-approved for under-eye use, though some doctors use it off-label in this area to treat hollows. This isn’t suitable for everyone, so we may recommend a more appropriate filler or cosmetic treatment during your consultation if under-eye hollows are your main concern.

Will my face look overfilled with Sculptra?

Sculptra is designed for subtle, natural-looking results. When properly administered by an experienced provider, it shouldn’t make you look “overfilled.” The goal is to restore lost volume gradually, enhancing your natural features rather than dramatically changing them. We aim for a refreshed, not “done,” appearance.

Can I exercise after Sculptra injections?

We recommend avoiding strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours after Sculptra treatment. This helps minimize swelling and bruising and allows the product to settle properly. Light activities are usually fine, but it’s best to avoid anything that significantly increases blood flow to the face or involves bending over for extended periods.

How much does Sculptra cost?

Sculptra costs vary depending on how many treatments you need and how many vials are used per session. Typically, a full treatment course might range from $1,600 to $4,000 or more. Touch-up treatments typically cost about $800 to $1,600. While this might seem higher than some other fillers upfront, remember that Sculptra results last much longer, potentially offering better value over time. We’ll provide a detailed, personalized estimate during your consultation.
